It's been a while....

So let me let catch up. Well first and foremost, everything in my life has gone ok. Some up, some down and everything all around. I still protect Paragon City from the evils that seek to do her in. When I'm not wearing my costume and cape, I'm working as a computer tech and network/server/allthingscomputer specialist. Nothing has changed drastically much. Except maybe internet service providers to cut down on cost and such. My main computer blew up after 5 faithful years of service. Sent the HD in for recovery to get the irreplacable data that I haven't been able to back up. Other than that my secondary system (which performs better) is still alive and kicking, though I will need to take a weekend out and clean out and replace the cooling fans in the system. Ok now that you are caught up on what has been happening, let me tell you something that has me growling as of late.

Teams

Teaming in City of Heroes/Villains was a big factor in the game. There was a community aspect to it, however in the earlier days of CoH, Teaming was required to get some of the content of the game. There were even times when in your own mission you had to get a team together to take out an Arch-Villain. I suppose now in days, a defender can solo an Elite Boss if he/she knew what they were doing. The Arch-Villains forced people to team.

Now the downgrade to Elite Boss has negated this. There is no longer a reason to team, unless if it's for the challenge or the company. In certain aspects I would find this good. However, when I spend time fighting villains to get prestige to help the SG/VG along I feel I get shafted by other members of the SG/VG when just looking for a team or seeing if anyone needs any help out there. I have friends in the game, I always find a way to fit them in. I never refuse teaming with friends or SG/VG mates. I'll sidekick or exemplar when applicable. Now I understand there is a world outside, I don't mind when people are absent from the game. But why play a community based game when you don't want to partake in said community? What I mean is that if you didn't want the interaction of others, but on occasion, why build a community in the first place?

The solo aspect of the game is nice, however, what's heroic action when no one is there to see you do it? When a tree falls in a forest and no one is around, does it make a sound? Most of the time, if I didn't want to talk to the community, I'll hole up and put in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

I guess I'm just frustrated. I have toons that require assistance from other SG/VG mates but they sit idle collecting dust. Now they go out to PuG's and help friends or random strangers, doing the same exact thing that I did prior to joining a SG.

Till next time...

And I'll try and update more often...
